Contribute

Even though Fearless Flyer is my personal web space, I am open to talented writers and designers to contribute articles. The more content – the better. It keeps the site updated and filled with information. Of course, I’m not looking for just any article – they have to follow a certain type:

What type of articles do I want?

This is already a given: They have to be web design related. They also have to be original content. I don’t accept articles that have been published elsewhere. I also aim to write articles that are useful to other designers.

Here are some examples:

Round ups and design inspiration:
How to’s / Tutorials (Photoshop or code):
Plugin reviews, WordPress tips, tricks and hacks

In summary – I’m looking for original, web design related articles – that are useful to other people.

No Duplicates Please

Google doesn’t like it when a copy of an article is found in two places. Duplicate content (or content that you didn’t write yourself), is a no no. Besides – nothing is more interesting than your own words, your own thoughts and your own work!

It doesn’t have to be a Professional Write Up

That’s correct. I’m a designer first and a blogger second. I don’t judge an article based on how well it’s written, but how good the content value is. I don’t nitpick on grammar nor fuss about spelling or capitalization. Besides, those are things that I can correct (I proofread pretty good).

Though there are some things I would like to see:
  • I like images. This means try to include illustrations and diagrams. Handwritten annotations, comments with arrows – these things make the article more personal (and I like that!)
  • Short and concise. Straight to the point articles are the best. No thesis papers, no life stories (unless they’re real interesting), no concept theories etc.
  • Make them easy to read. Bullet points are good. Try to make them as if you’re talking to your reader face to face.

So what’s in it for you? Why should you give me your precious articles?

At this moment, this blog is still not making solid revenue. This means that I cannot compensate you money-wise. I do promise you decent exposure. You will get full credit to your article including a short bio, gravatar and a link to your personal website.

At the same time you are building a genuine relationship with a design fanatic such as myself. I may be able to help you out with your logo or layout – who knows. I guess what I’m saying is: write for me and I’ll be your friend. Then you can tell your other friends, that you have a friend – who’s a web designer…and so on and so forth.

Head on over to my contact form and give me a buzz.
